[Tuesday November 4th, 2008 at 10:18 PM] Ooookay. I have gone from having an okay day at work to nearly losing Artemis to -insert-whatever-animal-killed-Willow-here to having an electronic nightmare all in one night. X.X First...I was stuck on express until 3:00. But then, one of the customers had a jar of something sticky that they were buying and it conveniently fell onto the floor and broke, so I had to shut down. And then apparently the girl doing self-scan was off at 3, so I got to cover for her. I don't know why, but there was no one to do self-scan between 3 and 6. So then I got off at 6 (also, I didn't get my break until 4:45 so that was nice) and came home...and couldn't find Artemis. So then I was on my mac, and it...well, it was giving me the issues it's been giving me. So then I took my laptop downstairs to write while I ate and managed to get the internet connected. So, uh, I think what my dad and I basically figured out is that the reason my laptop likes it when I'm in the living room is because I was possibly mooching off of a neighbor's net, which is why it was randomly disappearing and thus disconnecting me. But at least I didn't -realize- it was doing that at the time. ( More computer talk under here ) I've had the computer since the fall of '04, so it's not terribly old, but it's definitely had a long run. It could definitely propose a problem if I don't get it running again as far as things like graphics go, although...I do think I still have the Photoshop CD for Windows somewhere, so I could always put it on my laptop if I had to. My dad thinks that it could be the power supply of my mac, which is what the issue was the last time I was having issues with it (although it was not -nearly- as bad as this that time), so hopefully that is the case. I'm almost excited for whenever it can be taken to the mac store (which I have to wait for my dad to be willing to do, 'cause uh...it's in Farmington and there's noooo way I'd be able to drive all the way there without getting lost. I need one of my parents to do it and...that means my dad, basically. And the thing with Artemis...we were worried that something had happened to him, because I hadn't seen him all day and he didn't come when I was calling him, and then when my dad got home he wasn't calling. And then, I went down stairs to get my laptop because my dad had the idea of hooking the Ethernet cable for my mac to my laptop, and I opened the slider door. I barely called for him before Artemis came running towards the house and came inside. Silly cat. So now I am stuck only using the internet in my room...still...because I cannot always mooch off of my neighbor's net (I'm assuming that's what I was mooching off of), and...yeah. The 'net stuff would have to be moved downstairs, but then when I'd want to be in my room it would have to be back upstairs. Meh. Because of all of the electronic crap happening, I've fallen behind on my word count and I haven't been super focused, so I don't know how much progress I am going to make tonight before I end up going to bed. [Friday October 24th, 2008 at 7:20 PM] Schedule for next week time. Sunday- 2:30-7:30, cash Monday- 1:30-7:00, bagging Tuesday- 12-4:30, cash Wednesday- 12-6:30, cash Thursday- 3-10:00, self-scan (omghi seven hour shift) Friday- off. Halloween. NANO AT MIDNIGHT! Saturday- 12:30-6:30, bagging The only thing that sucks about Friday and Saturday is that NaNo starts at midnight which means I'll have about two hours to write before having to go to bed because I work at 12:30 the next day. But, 29:30 hours, plus Sunday (so five hours) with time and a half. That'll be a niiiice paycheck. Umm. So, when I got up stairs to check the schedule this girl Meghan asked me if I could give her a ride to work tomorrow. >.> She doesn't live that far from me, so meh. At least it's not Laura (who apparently told Diane that her boy friend is hotter than Diane's). I only went up to Stop and Shop because my mother needed some stuff for tomorrow 'cause she's selling t-shirts and she had stuff to do here. Someone made last_author, a Last Author Standing community. I am seeing much wank in this community's future. I can just imagine the wank that will rise in that community once it gets started. The drama lover in me is half tempted to friend the community to see what kind of wank shows up. I'm annoyed because while I was at Stop and Shop, my computer shut off because it wasn't plugged in all the way and apparently lost battery or something, and...yeah. :| I lost some stuff I'd had open that wasn't saved, and just...argh. I was attempting to advertise/get affiliates for Arcianya and I hadn't saved the stuff I needed, like the ad and just...stuff. :| Meh. I need to go home soon. Our neighbor is apparently over fixing the ceiling underneath the bathtub. I don't know whether or not after (assuming the neighbor isn't already gone by the time I get home) he leaves my dad will help me call the Internet people to help get the Internet working on my laptop again. I really do not want to have to wait until tomorrow night when I get home from work to do it. Okay, I'm going to finish this advertising up (well, most of it) and then work on heading home. A lot of people have unfriended me for whatever reason, and a lot of people have abandoned their LJ's for whatever reasons. So if you haven't updated since like...2006, or back in January or something, it's likely that I removed you in order to make room on my friends list. I'm private about some things and choose to leave those out, but generally I'll write about specific things that would be considered private, such as how my day at work or school goes. Things I'll probably post about: -Fandoms: anywhere between randomly talking about Star Wars, perhaps something I've noticed about it, to talking about a book I'm reading or a movie I've watched either for the first or millionth time. -Writing: any sort of accomplishments I have when it comes to writing. I plan on doing this because there are so many things I post about that you may not want to hear about.
